1. The Sims 3 Late Night - Our Really Really Late Review
Written on Sunday 22 May 2011 at 23:31 by Andy - 1 comment.

It's time to say goodbye to those little town blues and go to the bright lights of the city that seldom sleeps and prepare yourself for a Late Night.

The third expansion for The Sims 3 is taking our sims to the bar scene, where our they can drink or make delicious cocktails and rub shoulders with - or even become - famous celebrities. It is a world where you will find many creatures of the night, where they can be avoided or joined. With a new movie career as well as lots more new content, there is a lot for all of our sims.

2. Community Interview with Will Wright [Update]
Written on Friday 1 April 2011 at 11:35 by ChEeTaH - 0 comments.
Community Interview
Recently EA revealed to fansites that a first expansion for The Sims Medieval is in the making: "The Sims Medieval: Dark Nights." To accompany the announcement, several sites were invited to have a joint interview Will Wright. We'll be posting the full interview soon, once we get the announcement. For now we are already allowed to post a few snippets of the interview:

Your latest project is Bar Karma. Have you ever experienced some bad karma in a bar?
*laughs* Well I don't really visit bars that often. But I did to go a bar once, where they had this specific kind of beer. Now I'm not a beer person myself, but a friend told me that I had to try it. So I ordered one and went back to my friends. But before I made it to the table, someone bumps into me and... well let's just say that that was the first beer shower I ever had. But I'm not sure if that's a case of bad karma, or just clumsiness of that other person.

Have you ever considered a position as mayor, given the experience you have with that area, because of the SimCity games?
Well that's a good question. No I've never really aspired to be a mayor of a city. I guess my passion lies more with designing games that involve mayors, rather than actually being one.

If you were a Sim, wouldn’t you hate it that you had to take a shower so often to get your hygiene motive green?
*laughs* I think you have a point there. Sims do get to take a shower a lot don't they? I think that was one of the hard points in developing the game. We really needed to find a balance between annoying and fun in the motives.

[Update] As you may have guessed, this was an April Fool's joke. There is no interview with Will Wright: all of the above was made up. Did you fall for it?

4. The Sims Medieval
Written on Wednesday 4 August 2010 at 03:00 by Andy - 0 comments.

At E3, Rod Humble rambled on about how The Sims Division is going to "take the sims through time, space and theme" and that the first instance of it was about ready. Finding this link from Facebook, I can only take it that "The Sims Medieval" is going to be that. At the moment, there is only a website with a few screenshots but I am sure that this will be fleshed out as the days and weeks go by.

This site can be accessed by clicking here !!!

This does not look like an expansion pack and instead looks like a separate product and they anticipate it being released in Spring 2011. At The Sims Zone, we will try and keep you updated with the news as we get it and news about any other trips through time and space that our sims may be making.

Written on Wednesday 21 July 2010 at 09:45 by Andy - 1 comment.

For now, the time for adventuring is over. It's time to go to work.

The second expansion for The Sims 3 has landed and it is focussing on new professions ranging from sculpting to firefighting to investigating to ghosthunting. After having had some time to look through all of them and more, evaluating the new systems and see whether or not it is able to do what it claims, this is the précis of what has been found.

6. The Sims 3 EP 3: Late Night
Written on Tuesday 20 July 2010 at 23:46 by ChEeTaH - 0 comments.

EA has just announced the third expansion pack for the Sims 3, called Late Night. Sounding much like a remake of Nightlife for the Sims 3, the new pack will introduce hot tubs, vampires in a "vibrant, active downtown scene." Sims can become a local celebrity, member of a music band, mixologist, director and more. Rod Humble also said there will also be some new building tools. The pack will be out this autumn. Read on for the full press release and product description. Below you can also get a video and several screenshots.

Written on Monday 7 June 2010 at 07:06 by Andy - 2 comments.

We have visited China and Egypt and it is now time to round up our World Adventures Reports with a visit to Champs Les Sims in France and my conclusions. Once again, we will see the sights and find out from an intrepid adventurer about the cunning traps at Chateau Landgraab, what is making the spooky noises underneath the Gallerie D'Art and whether Nectar as a drink is all that it is cracked up to be.

We have seen what Shang Simla in China has in store with us. It is now time to visit Al Simhara in Egypt to find out what the desert sands are hiding. As well as looking at the landmarks, we will be finding out from a different sim about adventuring, learning photography and also how to succumb to - or avoid - mummification.

With less than two weeks to go until The Sims 3 Ambitions is released, The Sims Zone got a sneak peek at the game. At EA's office in the Netherlands, we spent about 2.5 hours on the latest game in the franchise, checking out various bits and pieces the pack has to offer. Although we weren't able to check out too much within this limited time, we did get some good first impressions of what you'll be able to get your hands on soon. So, what are you waiting for? The link to the preview? The preview is right here!

10. The Sims 3 Create a Sim - Is this purchase really necessary?
Written on Sunday 28 March 2010 at 06:14 by Andy - 7 comments.

When I saw this advertised, I was naturally curious. In being a completist when it comes to all things sim, I decided to go ahead and buy it in the event that it gave me something that I did not already have. To put it in that proverbial nutshell, it did not.

The title says it all. It is merely the Create a Sim feature from The Sims 3. It does not add anything new and serves as a taster for those for those who do not already have The Sims 3. For those who do have The Sims 3 and just want to work on creating sims, it does not even provide the facility to transfer them into the game itself and only allows uploading to the exchange.

I do not like being negative with my reviews but I have to be honest. I am very disappointed and I recommend people do not waste their money on this.
