During a little while several new graphics for the Sims 2 Seasons have appeared on the internet. First of all there's an artwork that appeared on the official
Italian website. It shows four Sims, each in a specific season of the year, of course doing one of the fun activities for that season. Also new, from the
official site, are five buddy icons that you can use in your IM program to show your friends you're a Sims 2 fan waiting for the fifth expansion pack. Finally the MySim icon has been found by Gugas1990 on the
BBS. This icon will appear on your MySim page after installing and registering the expansion pack. You can find all the graphics below. Click the artwork thumbnail to see a large versions, and right-click the other icons to save them.

Over the years several people have had the chance to be community manager at EA's Sims Division, or Maxis for that matter, communicating to fans and fan sites (including this one) of the Sims games. In
June it was announced MaxoidMel took the position. She has now announced she's stepping down as community manager to move towards the audio department of EA, since her degree and background are in that field. There she'll be working as an audio specialist for the Sims 2 expansion pack team. She'll be "
the person that helps the game design and animation folks figure out what audio can go where and then places it in the game, after the sound designers make it. Nerdy fun." Since she's still with the Sims Division she'll keep her official site's
profile and stick to blogging when she can. As of Friday, until a new community manager is hired MaxoidGoonter will do Mel's old job, while MaxoidDano and MaxoidDrea will still be on the official BBS too. From here we wish Mel good luck and all the best in her new position. See MaxoidMel's
announcement for details and discussions.

Just before the holidays Maxis updated the
official site with some holiday features. Although a little late now, there's a holiday greeting MP3 file. Listen to some Maxoids wishing you merry christmas on a Simlish tune. Also new is that on the
Sim Pages you can now select a holiday theme. The Sim pages have been upgraded in general, now allowing you to drag pods around, easily show or hide them, and more. They will soon also undergo a name change from "
MySim Page" to just "
Sim Page". Go to your own
Sim Page to change your theme and edit your account. Note that for everybody the theme has been reset, and you may need to choose your favourite theme again by going to your page. More details are in a recently sent
message from the web team.

Halloween is only a day away, and thus the
official site has launched a few features to celebrate the day of trick-or-treating. First of all you can
change your avatar to make it a little scarier, using the spiderweb background, a vampire collar, or witch hat for Sims, or a witch hat for pets. Furthermore, community manager MaxoidMel has also asked to mark any uploads special for Halloween with "
Halloween 2006" in the description. Changing the description for older downloads will also work, and allows Maxoids to easily spot the downloads for highlighting. You only have today to put your Halloween creations on the website, so be quick. Check the
BBS post for more details.

We already
reported about The Sims 2: In Season being listed on a registration page a while ago. While that has already been removed, the title does indeed seem to be a possibility for the upcoming expansion pack. A flyer that comes with the Sims 2 Pets on PC advertises the game, for which a small teaser is now also put on the
official site's front page. The first site to post about it was the Danish
GameSection, but
Rosierealea, member on the
official site, has also posted a large English version of the inlay, which you can see below. Of course we'll keep you updated with more information about this fifth expansion pack as we get it.

29. Royal Kingdom Challenge Interview

Many people have created challenges for the Sims 2 over the years, providing a goal for you to play towards. One of those people is
EnblithTheFair, who has created the Royal Kingdom Challenge. The
third edition has been posted recently, and is the one year anniversary version. The goal of the challenge is to create a themed neighborhood complete with royal family, nobility, merchants and more. The creator, EnblithTheFair, was recently interviewed by MaxoidMoonBelly about the challenge. She tells why he created the challenge, and the hard parts of making it: writing everything down without forgetting anything. Custom content also helps players along, as the game is normally based around a modern reality which is not permitted in the challenge. The scoring system and the response to the challenge are also discussed in the interview, as well as how Open for Business enhanced the challenge by making the merchant class come alive. EnblithTheFair's personal experience with the Sims 2 is also talked about, and her little free time to play the game properly. For more details read the
Royal Kingdom Challenge Interview over at the official site.

MaxoidMoonBelly is probably one of the most active bloggers of Maxis, and she has yet again written in her
blog, this time telling about a dart war at work. She has also made a few new creations: purple gowns for women, all to celebrate the
EnblithTheFair's Royal Kingdom Challenge. Male versions will take a little longer, but will be coming soon as well. Check out
MoonBelly's Uploads to download those creations.
