You've already seen the
announcement of Bon Voyage here earlier. As long as the official press release is still not out, which we expect will be sometime next month, information about the sixth expansion pack is still scarce though. The pack will, according to the
official UK site have three destinations to go to, each with its own landscapes and residents. Sims can go on tours and buy or find unique items. Of course there will be new accomodations to stay at during the holiday for your Sims. The locations include a tropical island, a mountaintop as well as a Far East style. Your Sims can learn new interactions while away from home as well, which they in turn can take home and teach to friends. The three screenshots that have been revealed until now are available to watch below - just click the thumbnails for bigger versions.

Computer and Videogames also managed to play the game after a European producer tour. 65. The Sims a Rewarding Game

GameDaily Biz ran a feature about new developments in the game industry. More and more new games are fun, rewarding experiences that don't punish the player for their actions. RollerCoaster Tycoon started this trend a couple of years ago, followed by The Sims and many other games. Rather than turning to violence, interactivity is a different form of art that attracts many players. That instead of punishment, where it's "Game Over" if you don't perform well enough. Also, many games are too difficult to complete, and start collecting dust after a player isn't able to get past a certain point. It's changing though, and much like the Sims games are starting to become more rewarding - or at least less punishing. Is The Sims setting an unexpected example to the games industry? Read the
editorial to find Chris Taylor's (Creative Director, CEO of Gas Powered Games) findings on this matter.

A while ago we already
mentioned The Sims Bowling, a bowling game for mobile handsets branded with Sims. EA Europe has announced its release, and as it seems the game is now available in Europe. Currently it's not available in North America, though it will be brought there soon as well. According to the
product page you can create your sim and select the colour of your bowling ball. You have to try to improve your reputation, but as you do so the difficulty of the game will also increase. The game features three ways to play: Classic, Spare-O-Thon and Strike-O-Thon. The press release is not available to the general public, but as service to you, you can just read on to read EA's announcement. The few screenshots that are available can be seen below.

67. Pets for Wii Previews

Several Pre- and reviews of the Sims 2 Pets for Nintendo's Wii have appeard on the web recently. The game is almost a direct port of the PlayStation 2/GameCube version of the game, but focuses on the Infra-Red technology of the Wii to do the controls. There are four articles, all of which say basically the same: there's no much difference with the versions released on the other two consoles earlier. The Wii's remote is the main new feature, as it allows you to just basically draw the outline of your houses using the Wiimote as a sort of pencil. The pointer then allows you to apply floors, set up wall locations and apply paint to the walls as well. As it behaves much like a mouse it works well for the Sims. Other than that the articles cover the base aspects of the game, which have already been discussed thoroughly when the game was released last year. So without diving into each (p)review in detail, just follow the links below to read the full articles:
68. Pets Stories Previews

Three websites have recently covered The Sims Pet Stories in previews, which also give the first details of what kind of stories can be expected in the soon to be released title.
GameSpot, the first of them, starts with what we know: The Sims Stories is for those who are too dazzled with the Sims 2 and want something accessible. Pet Stories will be about Alice who is about to lose her home. Preparing her Dalmatian Sam for a dog show, she hopes she can raise enough money to save her house. It's your task to train the dog and perform various tasks through the 12 chapters of the first story. The other story is about an executive chef Stephen, who gets Diva, his cousin's cat living with him. Just like Life Stories, the game is laptop friendly, runs in a window, and contains a free play mode as well. GameSpot's information is in their
preview.
IGN PC gives the pets names, and also mention some of the unique objects in Pet Stories. There will be tires, see-saws and hurdles and ramps to train your pets on. IGN says it won't be possible to export those items to the original Sims version, but if history repeats itself the community will find a way to port the objects to The Sims 2 without problems. IGN also reveals that a dog bed is one of the chapter ending rewards. Details are in the
preview. Finally there's
WorthPlaying, which mentions Diana Gabor as Alice's competative rival. They also say that Alice's story is focussed on teaching the dog new tricks, whereas Stephen's one is all about housetraining the cat. 70 Dog breeds and 30 cat breeds will be available in the game (The Sims 2 Pets had 72 dogs, 30 cats). Birds and womrats appear to have been phased out, says WorthPlaying, though they still appear in official
screenshots. Find WP's words in their
preview. The five screenshots that all these websites have published can be seen below as well.

After the release of Seasons EA released a few bloopers again. Bugs that occured during development of the expansion, that came with unexpected or simply weird results. Think invisible plant sims, eating pizza the hard way and flying fish here. The two screenshots as well as a video can be found on the official
Bloopers page.
