131. SimDay: Official Superstar Press Release

As Matthew already mentioned, the 6th expansion pack (not including Deluxe) has been announced by Maxis. This announcement, in the form of a press release, has been put up as a SimDay announcement. Here's a snippet from it:

"For the first time ever, players can follow their Sims to work and witness their pursuit of fame and fortune firsthand. Fledgling Sims start by signing with an agent and shuttling to Studio Town, a new and fully customizable destination that offers television and movie lots, spa locations, recording studios and fabulous fashion facilities. Once there, Sims can schmooze, network and name drop their way to stardom in the movies, music or fashion. Will your Sim be a flash in the pan or a living legend? Players can now track the sizzle of their Sims with an all new fame score. [...]

"Sims can become a celeb or just live like one. Fabulous new objects like a skydiving simulator, satellite dish, and a new art and furniture collection can turn an ordinary Sims abode into a magnificent and decadent manse. Sims in need of a day of indulgence and pampering can also enjoy the new day spa, complete with mud treatments, steam baths, Sim massages and an oxygen bar. Domestic staff is also available for hire so manicured Sims won't chap their hands with the drudgeries of household maintenance."

132. SimDay: PS2 video

Besides the announcement of the announcement of the German site launch, there's a SimCity 4 Fansite Kit (15.5 Mb) to be downloaded. Having said that, there's one final more interesting thing: a QuickTime video of The Sims on PS2. You see the biggest special features of The Sims PS2, like creating your Sims, the 3D neighborhood, the story mode and 2-player challenges. Definately worth a look for those interested in this game (or perhaps even in The Sims 2, as some features might/will be seen in that game as well). You need a QuickTime plugin for it. 133. E3 Today: The Sims Online

Yesterday The Sims' PS2 version was shown at the E3. Today it was TSO's turn to show off itself at the EA Stands. This upcoming online version of The Sims is set to be released in November this year. New information include screenshots, articles and movies. In the articles we can also get an estimation of the costs of The Sims Online. The Sims Zone will cover info provided by GameSpot and pc.ign.com again, like yesterday...
