Several fansites have reported that the latest update of
nVidia drivers causes problems with the Sims 3. The 191.07 version may cause the game to crash back to the desktop. If you experience the problem,
revert back to an older version of the drivers. Until then EA recommends to not update to this version, and wait for a new revision of the nVidia drivers to upgrade. More information is in a
forum thread.

The Sims 3 Indepth - Storymode Progression

In the ninth report of The Sims 3 Indepth series, we will be looking at Storymode Progression.
The report critically analyses how this has been implemented, looking at how families develop in the background, looking at the ease of changing the active families, looking at various irregularities and giving a personally considered judgement as to whether this has helped towards making The Sims 3 a hit or whether this is part of the game where things have good wide of the mark.

New Upload - "Nu Strand Beach"

I felt that Sunset Valley should have a beach that offered much more to keep sims entertained than just being able to fish.
Nu Strand Beach was created to offer an awesome 3 level bar complete with HDTV! Off the covered bar area is plenty of seating for the sims who enjoy ocean views and sunshine.
Other amentities include an area for chess lovers, spacious bath house, foosball, a fire-pit to gather around with your friends, and a boom box if you should feel the need to get your boogie on. And of course, salt water fishing areas.

This is a small home with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and driveway for 1 car.
The fireplace is unique in that the red exterior bricks will not be shown to clash with any exteriors of the home.

The Sims 3 - "Create-A-World" Tool - Coming Soon!

For those of us who have been waiting to build their neighborhoods from the ground up, the tool is coming that will allow us to do this. The Create-a-World tool is being released in December.
"Create-a-World is intended for serious Sims enthusiasts willing to devote enough time to build entire neighborhoods from scratch. The tool is actually the same one that the development team uses to create the playfields for The Sims 3 and its expansions. Because it's the same tool that the developers use, it can create areas similar to those that appear in the base game and expansions, in four different size levels. (The Sims 3's default neighborhood of Sunset Valley is the largest of the four world sizes.) ... Create-a-World will be a separate utility that will weigh in at about 130MB and be free to download from the official Sims 3 Web site. The tool is planned for release in a beta state this December in all languages--EA plans to support and improve the utility over time as it receives feedback from the fan community."
