If my memory serves me correctly, Sim Day was supposed to be the day of the week when Maxis produced something of use - be it downloads or relevant news about "The Sims".
Apparently this has changed and I for one am not at all pleased.
I have been an avid fan of "The Sims" since it came out over two years ago, and also many other of the great god/management games from Maxis and other software houses before and since.Apparently this has changed and I for one am not at all pleased.
As we know, Maxis is a major part of Electronic Arts and Maxis have websites for all of their games from "Simcoaster" through to "SimCity 4", not to mention an official website for "The Sims Online" (TSO)
Yes, it is nice to know that TSO will be crossing the pond to us Europeans - forever excluded from any official Maxis competitions (another of my moans) - sometime whenever but although the concepts are similar, TSO is a different game and has its own website where it can fly its flag.
No, I am not against us Simmers being informed of what is happening with TSO. However, what I am up in arms about is Maxis giving us just this news about a forthcoming product and not giving us Simmers anything else about the offline game that we have supported so much. It is because of us and our support of "The Sims" that TSO is becoming a reality.
That's my grumble of the week about SimDay. I could say "Normal Service will be resumed as soon as possible" as ChEeTaH will be back next week. However, If SimDay does not improve above this abysmal and half-hearted level of quality and us offline Simmers don't get a proper service, I will continue to moan until it becomes a day to look forward to and not a day like any other that it has become.
