Patch Online Today (Wednesday)
A little bit of news about the University and Nightlife patch has appeared again. MaxoidKane has said that she received word that the patch will be published today on the official website. Along with the patch a list of what it all fixes will be posted as well - so far there are no exact details concerning that. Read MaxoidKane's
BBS post of yesterday in which she announces the patch release date. Thanks to
SP Zone for the link.

Yep, it's available and cumulative. List of fixes are on
http://thesims2.ea.com/update as is the patch for each version of the game.
101 fixes in all, 84 for Uni and 17 for Nightlife.
It's only took three patches for Maxis to realise that its illogical for newborn babies to appear on the computer chatlist.
Be interested to see if the Headmaster functions are still broken, and there's no mention of babies that still refuse to grow up properly two EPs and three patches later.

From University's list of fixes:
- When being called for dinner, the headmaster will no longer decide to leave immediately after arriving on the lot.
- Fixed a very rare instance where Sims age meters would not properly reset after age transitioning.
- Fixed a problem where in very specific circumstances age transitions would fail.
Sounds like the problems you mentioned have been fixed (although babies are not specifically mentioned I suppose they're included in the age transition failure problem), but it won't hurt to find out.
I am wondering why they don't update the patch for the base game without EPs... or is that asking too much? Many of the fixes could be fixed in the base game too...
Edit: Oh by the looks of it, the University list also seems to have a few things that can only be for Nightlife if you ask me:
- Fixed a reset that occurred while multiple Sims watched TV on sectional sofas.

"When being called for dinner, the headmaster will no longer decide to leave immediately after arriving on the lot."
Is not the problem with the headmaster I was referring to; more his tendency to disappear into thin air.
The age meters issue also isn't what I mentioned earlier, though babies that refuse to grow up would be covered under "age transitions fail".
