Maxis is giving away 2,500 demo disks of the Sims 2 on PlayStation 2. If you're in the United States you can sign up for the free sneak peek of the game which will be released October 26th. In the demo, Create a Sim and the first day of the game will be fully functional. You have to be quick as only the first 2,500 registrants will get the demo. You can only get one disk per person, and delivery might take up to 2-4 weeks.
