SimDay - Chat Transcript and Postcards
The official site has been updated quite irregularly the past few weeks. Besides the new intro showcasing some bikinis for this summer, something else not reported on was a SimMaster of the Month (June) interview. SimMasterRalph was chosen as SimMaster of the Month this time, and gives some insight in what he does in the interview. Another feature recently launched is the Post Office. This place allows you to send e-mail cards to your friends. It started with a graduation card, but today a birthday and party card were added to the collection. Go to the post office to send the cards.

Yesterday was also the night a developer chat was held. It lasted just 30 minutes, but that doesn't mean there was no new information about Nightlife. To the contrary, Tim, Lyndsay and Hunter gave us some new info. The transcript is up, but you can also read on for some highlights of the new details.

In Nightlife there will be more types of food and of course new interactions. But vampires will be part of the new pack too, and they are controllable. If you want to avoid them, it's easy to do so. They are normal sims, and can even be married, although their motives will decay fast during the day, but not at all at night. They can also turn into bats, flying around over tables and everything. It is possible for them to procreate, but it's not genetic. Children of vampires thus will not automatically be vampires too - they'll have to be bitten by one to become a vampire too.

As for cars the Maxoids told that you can assign an owner to them. For the owner the carpool won't show up, but any other household members will still have to go by the carpool - if they have to leave at a different time anyway. Otherwise they can just all join the same car. Parents can even bring their offspring to school. Of course Woohoo can also be done in the cars, as can be in photo booths. Hardly any maintenance is required for the cars to run. Cars come in five types, namely a Hatchback, Sedan, Pickup, Minivan and Sportscar, and can be driven by anyone from teen to elder.

Finally, some names are given to new objects. As was already known, there will be a Poker Table, Karaoke bar and the Electrodance Sphere. For dance floors there are gobo-style ceiling lights, rotating light balls, neon lights, and a disco light floor. The new aspiration reward, which allows you to change the aspiration of a Sim, is named the ReNuYu-Senso Orb. Not really an object, but an NPC, is the matchmaker, which can make dates be hot or not, depending on how much you pay. The more the better. For some better details of what other content will be in the pack, as well as the rest of the chat, read the transcript.
