Bustin' Out Cheats
I've just spotted the first couple of cheats for Bustin' Out on the internet, on several sources. However, as I don't have the game (I don't have any of the consoles) I'm unable to test these. Nevertheless, I've put them on this site as several sites gave the same codes. If you can confirm that these codes are correct or incorrect, let us know by e-mailing us. Several gaming sites (not Sims fan-sites) had them, as well as the official site (which I discovered later, see the news item from 28 December) in the Bustin' Out section.

I got the gnome but I can't seem to find a way to select him because he is out of bounds. Can you help me?

You have to select the gnome in live mode, and then use the "Give Money" option on it to get 10,000 simoleons. Selling the gnome as stated before wasn't right (that error has been fixed earlier).

Unfortunately I don't have the game myself and have to rely on the information provided by other sites and people. What I posted above is all I know, so if somebody else would be able to help, then that'd be very nice.

You can find cheats there, and also a guide on how to go through all the missions.
As far as I know the cheats I posted on this site in the extras are correct, as they're the same as on the official site. I'll quote a few people from the BBS at the official site here, I hope it'll help you all out.

The §10,000 from the gnome is stated on other sites than the official one, so I'm not 100% sure about the accuracy of that. However, some people said it did work, others said it didn't. It should work in Live mode, but perhaps it's in buy mode after all - I'm not sure.
On the PS2, note that L3 refers to pressing the left analog stick down (not moving it down). It may take some practice, but I suppose the cheats as given on the official site are correct. I do not own the game, and am only doing my best to help you all. I cannot verify the information I receive myself though.

the gnome cheat doesn't work to get money, it only works to raise your motives level, after you've got the gnome press :
L2 R1 Left circle up
then the gnome will light up and will raise all motives! you've got to do this in live mode!

yeah, it's on ps2
so first :
R2, L1,R1,L2,left, circle : this in buy-mode (pause the game)...do this fast (1.5sec), you'll see the gnome
to 'activate' the gnome : L2,R1, Left, circle, up : this in live-mode
you'll here a woman sigh when correct, then you can raise motive levels, by clicking on the gnome

Update for the X-Box version: The gnome does give money. You should enter the code in live mode (not pause). You should be able to select the gnome in live mode as well, to get §10,000. Two people have emailed me telling me they got rich using that. Thanks to Carl Wheeler and "KER". Note that this has only been confirmed for the X-Box and not for the PS2 or GameCube versions.
As for the PS2 version, read Stef's comment above.
I'll update the cheats page with this information. I also want to ask anybody who gets the cheats to work to e-mail me, including information on which platform (i.e. PS2, GameCube or X-Box). Details on how they've worked (paused the game or not etc.) will also be appreciated. Thank you.

I have a PS2 with "The Sims: Bustin' Out"
I also have used all these cheats, and they do work. You have to be very quick and accurate. It takes a little practice to get the hang of it. But they DO work.
The Gnome code must be enabled for any of the other codes to work.
All codes are entered while the game is paused while in the buy menu, except for "Raise Motives" which is the only cheat to be entered in live mode (not paused).
Gnome: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press R2, L1, R1, L2, Left, Circle You will hear a female sim "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry, and a gnome should appear near the mailbox.
Easy Money: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L1, R2, Right, Square, L3. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Then click the gnome in live mode & choose "Give Money" to get §10,000. Do the code in reverse to disable it.
Raise motives: In Live mode, quickly press L2, R1, Left, Circle, Up. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Then click the gnome in live mode & choose "Raise Motives" to fill completely back up. Do the code in reverse to disable it.
All Objects unlocked: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L2, R2, Up, Triangle, L3 You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Do the code in reverse to disable it.
All Locations unlocked: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press R2, R3, L3, L2, R1, L1 You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. This code can be entered any time after your Sim woke up at Mom's House.
All Socials unlocked: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L1, R1, Down, X, L3+R3. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Do the code in reverse to disable it.
Team Photo: Press Start to pause game play, then quickly press L3, R3, R1, R2. You will hear a female sim say "hmmmmm" to confirm correct code entry. Do the code in reverse to disable it.
Note: L3 refers to pressing the left analog stick down. R3 is the same for the right analog stick.
I hope this has help some of you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Again, just remember, these codes have to be done quick and accurate. Which is hard with L3 & R3. But keep trying. You'll get it. Good Luck!
