I can install the original sims with no problems, however, when i try to run the program nothing happens. Nothing comes up in the task manager either. I'm running XP Pro.

Do you have:
* The latest Windows Updates (www.WindowsUpdate.com)?
* The latest DirectX version (www.Microsoft.com/DirectX)?
* The latest drivers of your video card (Usually NVidia.com (GeForce) or Ati.com (Radeon))?

If you don't have any of those, then download and install the latest updates/directx/drivers first, then try running the game again.
