I have installed the sims deluxe edition and then installed the sims makin magic expansion after. Whenever i now put the sims deluxe edition disk in it comes up with the message...

the message it comes up with is 'it has come to our attention that you have installed another sims expansion pack after the sims deluxe edition. For this to work properly, The sims deluxe edition installer will now update your installation. Select ok to proceed'
However when i follow this it just uninstalls the sims deluxe edition.

If you've installed MM and then put the Deluxe disc back in the drive in order to play the game, that's your problem. Depending on which EP you installed - in this case, MM - and the point at which it came out - for example, Unleashed was the fifth EP, MM the seventh & last, etc. - the game will need the disc of the most recent EP, which in your case is MM.

Sorry if that was difficult to understand, I explained as best I could :)

this happens to me aswell! the latest expansion pack i added was 'makin magic', however, when i go on it it says that i've installed an expansion pack after this (which i haven't) and i must click ok to proceed which will 'update my installation', but when i click ok it deletes my original sims, all their houses etc...help?!
