I'm running windows xp and I just got a new vacation exp. First the game worked with making magic,living large, but afther reinstalling and addding vaccation it crashes in the neigboorhoud

Try installing ll, vac then mm. It worked 4 me!

reinstalling does not help. It still crashes if you try to open a house! Who can tell me what might be the problem?

Does this happen with one specific house, or with all houses in the neighborhood?

It could be that you have a broken download then. Run the FileCop (available in the Utilties section), or if that fails remove the game completely (Uninstall, remove the C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims directory, and use SimsEraser), then reinstall it. Everything will be lost, but it seems to be the only way unfortunately.
