With all of the expansion packs added for Sims 2, my 512 MG of RAM is not fast enough. What do you guys have? Should I double it and have a Gig of Ram, what do you all think? Has yours slowed down since you added all of the expansions???

I have 1 gig of RAM and it's still not enough. When I speed up the action it sometimes freezes and the PC restarts. There's also significant slowing down especially with snow. Better to get more than 1 gig for smoother gameplay.

Thank you Liaa for answering. WOW this game requires a lot of RAM. I guess I will get 2 Gig if it isn't too expensive.

I just spoke with a computer guy who told me since I have RDRAM that I could go to a 1 Gig and it would be as fast as a lessor type memory plus I'm getting a new video card because mine is ancient. I can't wait!

But since I am upgrading to a megafast video card and more than doubling my RAM, that shouldn't be a problem.

oh great! tell me how it works out for you. I have a Palit 7600 NVidia, somehting something and 1 gig of ram, will add 1 more gig maybe. I want to see snow. :D

FYI, the upgrades I made really didn't make the game that much faster. ::pouts:: How much RAM is needed to make this game move quicker??? GEEZ. Instead of 20 minutes for the game to load, it is 15 minutes. Whoopy Do! a whole five minutes saved. OH and when you tell the sim to "change their appearance" that takes forever too. The second time, not so long but it is very irritating.
