please help i am entering the cheat gnome L1 L1 R1 x x and d pad button up and it isnt working i have tried it time and time again what am i doing wrong? the d pad button is the arrows on the left hand side of the controller and how do you get to the town

enter the code during gameplay, dont press start first or anything. maybe you arent typing it in fast enough. to get to town you go to the arrow by the road then go to town, you can choose family members or pets to go with you.
