I've been playing my game with no problems, but now my maid wont turn up,if i get a fire no firemen(cant even call them on the phone)the gardener doesnt turn up anymore either!?!can someone help-as i cant phone them to get em to come back....

Long standing known issue. Your lot is basically corrupted.
Easiest thing to do would be to basically move your sims out into a new house.
