I played sims deluxe edition while OS was win2000. I changed OS to win XP. I re-installed sims deluxe without problems. When I launch the game (either using cd's autorun, shortcut, launch menu or windows explorer), I get back to the desktop. How to play?

did you press alt, / or any of them symbols if so it won't work. Another reason may be because the cd has a scratch on it

the game not in stalled right the files load in the wrong floder you will have to insall it again and make
soure it go to the maxis floder
be soure to use eazer before you reinstall it
