Ok, I have reinstalled the sims 1, house party, vacation, unleashed and superstar...which all installed fine. I'll select a house, play a bit and want to save and i crash to my desktop everytime. I have all requirments and programs shut while playing

by the way...i never had this problem until i added on vacation, unleashed and superstar as of today. did i buy these for nothing?? I have all system requirments, i'm sure of that...and i shut down all programs i'm not using. what could the problem be? no trouble shooting is helping me. this is all on my laptop (gateway) not a pc. still plenty of space on drive.
