I cannot get the sims deluxe to run, so i tried reinstalling it. At the end of it, it said "error setting version in registry aborting installation" how can i sort it out?

Have you got the right windows type?

Yes, I have windows XP. It had always worked before, and now its not. I can't figure out why.

Try running the Sim Eraser, available at the official Sims site by Maxis. It will completely erase the game from your registry and computer. Then try to re-install. This program worked for me many times.
