Raedon recently sent out an upgrade for their display drivers, which has been causing mayhem with trying to load games - it happened to me too. Here's what to do:
Right-Click on your desktop and select Properties.
Select the 'Settings' Tab and click 'Advanced'. Select the 'Adapter' tab. Click 'Properties' and then select the 'Driver' tab. Then click Update Driver. When that updates, you will be asked to restart your machine. Do so - and then you should be able to use The Sims 2.
