i downloaded some things in the sims resource but i tried to find it in the sims body shop but it wasn't there.

Is it possible the things you have need a particular mesh in order to work?
or
Do you maybe have them in a sub folder?
Objects and hacks can go in Subfolders. The skins hair and anything that is directly involved with the Sim itself needs to be directly in the Downloads folder.

If those are not the issues sometimes when I add several things it takes me a couple starts of my game for it all to work itself out in regards to thumbnails and such. If you added a lot maybe try restarting the game a time or two.
