I have Sims Deluxe, HP & HD, installed in that order. When I had to reinstall after a glitch even though I had copied all my user data files and my game data files I still can't get my original houses or Sims what do I do?

Of course you need to copy the userdata/gamedata files back to the game directory after installing the game. Then also make sure you select the same neighborhood as the one you were playing before.

If you only made a back-up of the "UserData" directory, but not the "UserData2", and you were playing neighborhood 2, then you won't be able to get it back though. UserData2 contains the Sims, houses, etc. of Neighborhood 2, UserData3 that of Neighborhood 3 and so on.

I recommend using The Neighborhood Handler to create and restore back-ups of your neighborhoods.

I have Sims Deluxe and all the other expansions.

I want to tansfer my sims data from my pc to my laptop. Ive installed the games in the correct order. Copied user Data 1 - 8 (from pc) and pasted them into the sims folder on my laptop.

when I start Makin' Magic, I get the error message "we have noticed you have installed another expansion since makin magic'.

I let it start and then it asks if I want to uninstall makin magic. I said yes and it uninstalled the game and I couldn't play so I had to reinstall them.

Now I say no it doesn't start.

What have I missed?
