I just bought the sims 2 yesterday and the installation went fine and everything, but when I tried to open it up, an error message came up and said that I needed "DirectX 9.0c compatible grphics adapter"... I have windows ME, can someone help?

I tried the whole downloading new drivers, I have DirectX 9.0, and nothing has worked. I looked at this system requirements tool thing, but it hasn't helped because it won't open up "check.bmp". I downloaded a few graphic adapters, but it still says that I have my old "Intel(r) 82810 Graphics Controller" please help!!!

For what it's worth, that is not listed as supported but as it sounds like something from the Intel Extreme Graphics range, it probably needs the faster processor. Discussion at http://www.thesimszone.co.uk/knowledge/index.php?ID=1780
