No, actually what happens is a social worker comes and takes the kid out of the house. I'm not sure if you ever get them back, I doubt that you will be able to, but you never know. Maybe another family could adopt them? It's hard to tell.

According to usenet, if you get your kid sim (baby/toddler/child) taken away by the social, you can get them back by going through the adoption agency.

once i had a single sim and i clicked adoption agency by accident and it said i didn't have enough money, so obviously u can't be poor if you want to adopt. i was kind of relieved though lol.

You need over $3000 for an adoption. Not that you'll spend $3000 on a baby's stuff and a nanny and what not.

I phoned the adoption people by accident. I had enough money cause I used the cheat. It didn't even ask me and I was trying to order a pizza. I got a kid sent to my family who already had three kids. I just tried to kill it until the adoption centre took it away. Lock it in a room with no doors, it works!

theres a way on sims 2 to have just a kid you can turn social worker into toddler or sumthin then the kid lives by him/herself im not sure if another sw will come to take social worker baby and the kid maybe/maybe not my friend said she did it once but i dunno she didnt say nothing else
