I cannot talk to any NPCs in magic town. What do I do. clicking on them and selecting talk doesn't work.

Try reinstalling. I know it's a bit of a chore and you loose all your sims but if youre really dedicated to the game youll make the sacrifice lol. Kepp looking though, someone may have the answer!

I had this problem!
Before MM I had downloaded out of home Enablers for Buy/Build Mode. They interfered with the NPCs on MM soi removed the enabler files and *TAH DAH!* I can talk to NPCs. If you have downloaded TONS of stuff, go back to the sites where you downloaded and read about any Updates regarding MM and special objects!
