Will the windows ever let light into the room during the day? that really bothers me that it doesnt. I even tried placing windows in every possible place and it still did not brighten the room like it did in sims1

Light in TS2, unlike TS1, is more naturalistic. That is, a collection of small pokey windows will not light up a huge room.

Having said that, a tradeoff comes when one builds rooms on the sides of existing rooms because there's no light. You can always turn on the lights.

That happens to me too. You put the biggest window in every spot and its like really dark. If it realllly bothers you cut a piece of wall out but who wants a house with a missing wall???

Windows only light up a little bit of the room.

You have to make sure that your lighting is set on medium or high. If it's on low/off or whatever they have, you won't be able to see the room light up.
