Sims 2 installation keeps freezing. Sometimes it freezes during the second cd, third cd and once it made it to the 4th cd. It shows like its still running but progress bar doesnt move.

To spare you any more headaches, bring it back to the store you bought it and ask for a new one, just to be sure!
If it does the same things with the new one you at least know that it's not the game who causes it!
Do you have previous data of The Sims 2 still installed on your PC? Make sure nothing leaves behind when you try to reinstal the game, otherwise the Game won't install itself!
