I have The Sims Deluxe installed and all the expansion packs in order. I tried to have a party but when I bought items for the party(dance cage, buffet tables, disco ball, dj booth) they dissappear when I go to live mode.

You may have downloaded something off of the internet a while ago for one of your expansion packs before you could have it in the next one... Sometimes if you have extra's downloaded and install a new expansion that wasn't meant for the download, it won't work in game, and may corrupt other files...
