Can I use the American version of the game on my English Mac? I know you can't use American PC games on English ones but the Mac Sims game has the American 'Suitable For Ages...' label on it.

I don't think it should be a problem. The computer can't detect your age, so that's definitely not a problem. Since they aren't DVDs (with region protection), the games can be read by both European and US Macs. It would be quite silly if American Mac games wouldn't work on English ones.
