What can I do to make clothes that I've downloaded buyable in the shops?

All I have is Sims Deluxe edition and Sims Hot Date... but I found the folder that I suspect is what you are looking for.

C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionPack3\SkinsBuy

or C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims\ExpansionShared\SkinsBuy

I copied skins from my GameData\Skins to that folder and have yet to find out if it works or not. If it crashes or there is no change in the clothes available in the downtown shops, I'll let you know
