Cheats & Bugs
New Cheats

With every expansion come new cheat codes to add to the game. The ones with OFB are as follows.

AddneighbortoFamilycheat [on/off]

This adds an interaction to non-controllable Sims to allow you to add them to your sim family. In this way, your families can go over the traditional eight people. I am yet to test this cheat as it does not say whether their finances are added to your own.

Forcetwins

If you do not wish your expectant sims to stuff their faces with cheesecake and instead want to be guaranteed to have twins, this cheat does the trick. Make sure the expectant sim is selected, enter the cheat code and when their delivery date comes, the Sim will automatically deliver twins. Then the hell begins. Ever guessed I am not too bothered about my sims having twins? For those who do want it, this does the trick for you.

Plumbbobtoggle [on/off]

I love it. This toggles the plumbbob on and off, which is great for making movies and taking snapshots. I wish the same could be done in the neighborhood as when I do take snapshots or movies of my neighborhoods, the plumbbobs over the occupied buildings do look somewhat ugly.

Wall Placement Restrictions Removed Cheat

Not a usual cheat as it is not entered through the cheat console. Pressing the CTRL + ALT keys while trying to place an object will activate the cheat and allows you to place any wall object on a wall already occupied by another object. Previously, this could only be accomplished through "moveobject [on/off]" I really like this cheat and I have used it quite a lot. A classic example of a place to use it is putting your Open/Closed sign in the window of your business.

Business Bugs

Bugs are expected to come with every expansion and OFB lives up to our expectations. Firstly, I'll mention the bizarre wants and fears that have cropped up.

  • Wishing to see someone's ghost before that person has already died.
  • Wanting to DRINK someone.
  • Fearing catching your spouse cheating on you, especially rare if your spouse is dead.

Another bug that involves playable sims being unable to eat food that they have bought from a bakery.

A further bug is that mass produced items do not show up in the proper quantities in the proprietor's inventory.

Fortunately, following the first patch, most of these have been sorted. Some bugs still remain on systems using certain video cards where items flash, although this could be rectified with the latest drivers.
