Tired of having to wait for Maxis to release new objects? Now you don't, because
The Sims Resource has object downloads for The Sims 2. They have over 30 wonderful new recolor object downloads. The downloads show up as new texture choices in the game item catalog. So now you can get those neon yellow drapes you always wanted, or that dark green chair for the den. They also have a nice tutorial to help you get started on the path of object creation. All objects can be found in the object section of their downloads. So surf on over and start downloading from

They were able to ask him some more questions about the upcoming expansion pack, and the Sims franchise. Now that The Sims 2 community has figured out how to make
objects,
SimStuff.com has launched a objects database as a response to what the community has learned. You can start downloading fan made objects from their
objects
database. As of now, the database is a bit empty, but as more Simmers start creating objects, the database will populate. You can also share your creations there too by uploading them through their
submissions section. So start creating, start uploading, start downloading, start having fun.

The omnipotent Delphy at
Mod the Sims 2 has created a mesh extractor for TS2. This means that they are much closer to adding completely new objects to the game, and many other exciting things. A few things are yet to be ironed out, but this is still ahuge leap forward for the modding community. Check out
