EA has recently announced that for several games, including the Sims, the soundtracks will be released in MP3 form and as ringtones and mastertones on several online stores. Together with Nettwerk Music Group EA has launched "EA Recordings" with several soundtracks from games like Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, the Command & Conquer franchise, The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth, the Medal of Honor franchise, SSX 3, and several EA Sports titles. Along with those games, there are also soundtracks for the Sims 1, by various artists, and Mark Motherbaugh's music (and remixes made of his music) for the Sims 2 and the two expansion packs.
