There's been quite a bit of news again. First of all, Maxis has announced there will be a chat with Producer Thomas Vu and David Patch, Art Director, tomorrow. As usual the chat will start at 3pm PST (11pm in the UK, midnight in most of Europe), and you can enter from the official site. The room should, as normally, open about 10 minutes before the start of the chat.
In other news: The Sims 2 has left the number 1 spot on the UK charts already. After its #1 debute a week after the release, the game is now on place 2 in the all platforms charts, after Star Wars: Battlefront. What's happening next week is unsure, as other major titles like Fifa 2005 (all platforms), Fable (X-Box) and Pikmin 2 (Nintendo) are expected to do well. The Sims 2 is still on the first position among PC games though. More about this at GamesIndustry and the ELSPA Charts.

nVidia has announced they will sponsor the World Cyber Games competition in San Francisco 6-10 October. Besides the competition itself, there's an exhibition area, where nVidia will have several games ready to play. Included is the Sims 2, so if you're in the area and would like to try the game, you can head over to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium to have a go. This weekend, EA Benelux (Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg), has announced a unique stunt to promote The Sims 2 in the country where Big Brother was born. Starting in 2 weeks, a family will enter a house of glass, which will be built in Utrecht, the Netherlands, for 4 days. During those four days, the family can be followed from the web, but you can also come to the house and watch them live. The people, at least 2 adults and 2 (teenage) children, can be given assignments from the internet, which makes them just like Sims. EA has launched a campaign on national media (TV, radio and printed media), to find a Dutch family prepared to go in the house for €2500 (about $3000).
SnootySims has found another minisite of the Sims 2. There's a little Crunch Time minigame to be played at As if we Need a Website. Do your best to keep the Maxis people working, and make sure they're not distracted...
GameSpot has posted a unique download for the Sims 2. Submitted by "mtbeer", there's a 3.3 Mb download available. They are normally locked skins, like the maid, grim reaper, etc. You can now get your Sims in those outfits, by downloading the skin pack.
