The info has been summarised in the Read More part. Click below for some screenshots from the magazines, as well as an advert featuring some real people. Thanks to our affiliates SimsZone and the French The Sims 2 Creation for the info and pictures.

Create A Sim In-Game Shot Interface Description (in French) Sims 2 Advert picture

About neighborhoods, it's said that besides the 3 known neighborhoods, Pleasantview, Veronaville and Strangeland, the game will ship with 11 other neighborhoods. You will find the Baxters (Don, Sarah and their son Alex, from the E3 2004 presentation) and the Clientes (Dina and Virginia). Besides that Bella Goth has, as known, mysteriously disappeared, and Cassandra has something going on with a casanova. In Strangeland you'll also find a lady with a collection of gravestones.

As for the new recording mode, to record videos of your Sims, it's said that it will be possible to place a number of static cameras. While recording you'll be able to load them by pressing a button. The game will have 10 careers: Slacker, Business, Justice (Law Enforcement), Cooking, Culinary, Medicine, Military, Politics, Outdoors (Sports), Life of Crime and Science. There will be 7 careers with 3 jobs each for teens and elders, but which ones exactly is unknown. As your Sim progresses through the careers, they will get less holidays. While working, they will get holidays though, which they can save up (for instance to take a day off when they're ill). Weekends are not mentioned, but they might still have those in as well.

More information about the game itself is that you can hire a bartender when holding a party. Although the baby stage takes just a few Simdays, you will be able to potty train babies, and learn them to speak. The entire life of a Sim takes about 90 days (instead of the previously mentioned 100), which will still come round to about 20 hours of play time on normal speed. You can use the Elixir of Youth (Aspiration award object) to extend the life of your Sim. Another aspiration object, the money tree, is actually called Arbrathune. Using the "Diabolic Turtoise" (name might be different in English) you can gain knowledge of other Sims.

As for relationships, two friends can fight without immediately losing their friendship. There are also new levels of friendship: acquaintance, friend or fiancee. Relationships are, just like with The Sims 1 since Hot Date, divided into two bars, one for the short term relation and another for the long term relationship. Friends of a Sim will also be friends with the entire family, including sisters and uncles. A depressed Sim, without any friends or without success in their aspiration track, can start being friends with an imaginary bunny.

Finally, as for expansions, they won't be recreations of the expansion packs of The Sims 1. Nevertheless, it's possible that we'll get to see for instance pets in the future. Online options and a special career (like Superstar) will also be probable options for future expansions.
